What is the age limit for GO Run For Fun events?

GO Run For Fun is aimed at primary school children. The majority of children involved in the GO Run For Fun programme are 4 – 10 years old.

Are the events suitable for children with disabilities?

Yes!

GO Run For Fun events are very inclusive of all children ages 4 – 10 years old.

Children with learning disabilities and physical disabilities are absolutely able to take part in the events we host and are always encouraged to join us for a fantastic day! The fun runs are not competitive, every child goes at their own pace and is congratulated for taking part and living a healthy & active lifestyle!

How far do the children have to run?

All of our courses are between 1 mile – 2 km. It’s a great starting distance and accessible to all children, whether they are currently very active or not.

What do the children need to wear for the event?

All children will be provided with a FREE pink GO Run For Fun t-shirt to keep, which they will wear on the day of the event.

We also recommend that children wear trousers or shorts suitable for running in, as well as appropriate footwear.

As the events take place outside, depending on the time of year, the weather may be cold or even raining, so we advise children to bring warm clothes and coats to wear before and after the run.

How many children take part in the run?

The number of children taking part in our events varies with each event that we do.

Events can range from 500 children up to 4,000 children taking part!

We aim to give each and every participant the exact same event experience, regardless of the size or scale of the event.

Who is Dart?

Dart is our very own mascot who comes along to almost every one of our events. He always wants to say hello and wish everyone good luck. He may even join in the warm-up too so you can copy his moves!

Is there a winner?

There is no prize for the fastest runner at GO Run For Fun. Our events focus on celebrating each child’s participation and enjoyment of running.

Children should make their way around the course at their own pace. Every runner is cheered on by the spectators and our mascot Dart, whether they finish first or last.
