GO RUN FOR FUN INSPIRES 9 YEAR OLD WITH DIABETES

9 year old Josh from Wold Newton School in Driffield has developed a love for running after attending the Humber GO Run For Fun in 2018.

Josh has had Type 1 Diabetes for the past 2 ½ years, yet he doesn’t let it stop him from running for fun!

Josh loves being active, and On 20th April 2019, Josh completed his first Parkrun 5km with his family, wearing his 2018 pink GO Run For Fun T-shirt!

Josh was excited for the 2019 event in Humber, telling his mum that “it’s my favourite day of the year!”

Josh’s mum attends the event to monitor his sugars, and she commented that “As a parent, I love seeing kids of all sorts of abilities enjoying running. Hopefully my littlest boy, who has autism, will be doing it next year too!”
